You can verify their identity for free with "ID Verification" provided by Stripe. The process takes less than 5 minutes and is available to all HomeHak members.
While ID verification is not mandatory for tenants, it can add a nice badge of trustworthiness to your profile when approved. Click here to learn more about Stripe Identity.
Is ID verification mandatory for landlords and letting agents?
Every landlord, homeowner or letting agent who advertises a property on HomeHak must verify their identity with Stripe Identity, which involves presenting their passport or driving licence. This helps to discourage "fake landlords" or "fake agents" from advertising a property that does not exist.

How can you verify you identity on HomeHak?
Follow these steps to verify your identity with Stripe:
- First, click on your profile picture at the top right corner and then on "Settings, Create Profile, Menu".
- Under "Create my Tenant CV", go to the option "ID Verification".
- Click on "Get ID Verified".
What can you do if you tried to verify you ID with Stripe, but it didn't work?
If you attempted previously to verify your ID and received the below error, check your name and middle name in the "Profile Input" section (under "Create my Tenant CV"):
These fields in your profile should match what is on your ID. You should always ensure that Stripe has correctly identified these fields.
